EMERGENCY CONTACT SMS TERMS

These Emergency Contact SMS Terms govern automated text messages sent by Decoy Wallet LLC (“Decoy Wallet,” “we,” “us”) to people who are listed as emergency contacts by registered Decoy Wallet users.

By selecting the affirmative consent option on the Decoy Wallet emergency contact consent page, you agree to receive automated emergency alert text messages from Decoy Wallet at the mobile phone number provided for you by the registered user. You also agree to these Emergency Contact SMS Terms and the Decoy Wallet Privacy Policy.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Emergency contact messages may include notice that a registered user activated a duress or emergency alert, updates that an alert was cancelled or changed, secure links to alert details, location information if the user enabled location sharing, and administrative messages related to your emergency contact status.

The emergency contact SMS program does not send marketing or promotional messages.

MESSAGE FREQUENCY

Message frequency varies based on the registered user’s use of Decoy Wallet and whether an alert is triggered. During an active alert event, you may receive multiple messages in a short period. Outside of alert events, messages should be infrequent.

RATES AND CARRIER DELIVERY

Message and data rates may apply. Charges are billed by your wireless carrier and are your responsibility. Not all carriers or devices support this program. Decoy Wallet is not responsible for delayed, failed, blocked, or undelivered messages caused by carriers, network conditions, device settings, or other circumstances outside Decoy Wallet’s control.

OPT OUT AND HELP

You may opt out of emergency contact SMS messages at any time by texting STOP to the Decoy Wallet SMS number that sent you the message. After a valid STOP request, Decoy Wallet will send one confirmation message and stop sending emergency contact SMS messages to that number. For help, text HELP to the Decoy Wallet SMS number or contact support@decoywalletapp.com.

LOCATION DATA

Emergency alert messages may include or link to the registered user’s location if location sharing is enabled. Location information may be approximate, delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate. Use any location information only to respond to or assist with the emergency alert.

NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE

Decoy Wallet is not a 911 service, emergency dispatch service, law enforcement agency, or medical provider. If you believe there is an emergency, contact 911 or local emergency services directly.

NO WALLET ACCESS

Being listed as an emergency contact does not give you access to the registered user’s Decoy Wallet account, wallet, funds, credentials, recovery information, or financial activity.

PRIVACY

The collection and use of your mobile phone number and related information is governed by the Decoy Wallet Privacy Policy at www.decoywalletapp.com/privacy-policy. Your phone number will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. It may be shared with SMS delivery providers as needed to operate the emergency contact SMS program.

LIABILITY AND CHANGES

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Decoy Wallet is not liable for harm, injury, loss, or damages arising from delayed, failed, inaccurate, or undelivered SMS messages, or from any action or inaction taken in response to an emergency contact alert. Decoy Wallet may update these terms from time to time.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan and are subject to the arbitration agreement and class action waiver provisions in the Decoy Wallet Terms of Service to the extent applicable.
